This work stems from the remembrance of my childhood home, which returns in my memory as a suspended space — between ground and air. In that shack, gourds were everywhere: vessels and pockets of time. In Berlin — a city marked by destruction and rebuilding — I understood glass as preservation. From this realization, I transformed the gourd into glass, making visible what was once an opaque shelter and creating a reservoir capable of holding and protecting. In this act of transmuting matter, I seek to give body to memory: the glass invites the gaze yet also refuses it, guarding what is intimate and inaccessible. In its orange reflections, I move within the poetry of time, resilient as the steel of my father’s truck.
