Steel, aluminum, lemon tree branch, and asbestos roofing screw
68 × 88 × 10.5 cm

This work arises from the desire to tension present and past. Steel cables extend between iron bars — similar to those that once supported the asbestos tiles of the shack where I lived. Between them, a thorned lemon branch meets another, thornless, fixed to the structure. From the friction between these temporalities emerges a gesture of impulse — an invitation to dive into multiple times. Inspired by Leda Maria Martins’ concept of spiral time and Paolo Rossi’s reflections on memory, this work integrates a series that investigates the tensions between time, matter and remembrance.
