Sofreu Rips Time Santa Luzia - Brasil

This work echoes the song of the Sofreu, a bird that builds its nest among thorns and accompanied much of my childhood.

From its open cage — one that does not imprison — its melodic yet violent call fills the gallery at different intervals, inviting the audience to search for its source and listen between the time of memory and the present. This affective echo reverberates as living memory — a fiction of time embodied through sound.
