Steel, aluminum, resin, and blown glass

This work emerges from memories of the shack where I grew up — from a mantra formed against fear, before a drain that opened like an orange abyss in dreams. Here, the water returns transformed: warm, continuous, drawing itself toward the center. Between resin and soap, I excavate a place that no longer exists and keep it in blown glass. As John Gage notes in A Cor na Arte [Color in Art] (1993), color becomes matter and space, altering our perception. Yet there is another kind of enchantment with water — for the water that runs is also the one that remembers.
