The installation To Hurl Oneself into the Dangers of Sky and Dream, composed of eight pieces manually constructed during a residency at the Escola Guignard Gallery. Inspired by writings about the sky — both my own and those of authors such as Isaac Asimov — the work draws from the observation of asbestos-cement roof tiles sheltering informal dwellings, sometimes rigidly fixed to raw concrete, the same material that binds bricks together while leaving cracks through which light and sound pass.

It also takes as its starting point the estalos: the sudden clicks produced by these tiles as they expand and contract in response to changes in temperature. In this work, these sounds detach from their material origins and materialize as small stars projected toward the sky, transforming an everyday phenomenon into an image of rupture and flight. What emerges is a tension between seeing and tearing, looking and listening, resistance and release. Like the tiles themselves, desire sustains itself through tension — a force that pulls back and holds, without ever breaking completely.
